How to Plan a Romantic Night for Your Partner

How to Plan a Romantic Night for Your Partner

Gale Urban  | 1 day ago
Are you in need of a romantic date night? Life can be chaotic with careers and children, and you need some alone time with your partner every so often. It’s okay to pick a traditional date combination, such as dinner and a movie. However, there are some things you should consider before going out. This event shouldn’t be rushed, it should be enjoyed. That’s the whole point, right? Let’s do things right and set up a proper date.

Remove Distractions

You don’t want distractions during your romantic moments. Put the phones away. Make sure your kids have the phone number to their grandma’s house and concentrate on the person beside you. Social media isn’t interested in your love life and you shouldn’t be interested in sharing it. The people in the restaurant aren’t concerned with you either, they’re focusing on their own dates. Take your partner’s hand and don’t let go…at least until dessert arrives.

Dress To Impress
Your significant other may not see you dressed up often, even if you put effort in at work. Often, all they see is what you wear afterward, when you’re in your pajamas and getting ready for bed. When the kids are around, there’s not much time to put on lipstick or slick back the hair. It’s to be expected. That’s why this time is so important. Break out those heels and that blazer. Dress to impress one of the most special people in your life.

Set the Mood

Atmosphere is everything. If you’re staying in, then dim the lights, light some candles, and turn on soft music. Going out to dinner? Pick a quiet restaurant that caters to romantic couples just like you. You don’t want a mob from the dinner rush to ruin your evening. Spend a little extra money if that’s what it takes. Be sure to treat each other with extra care, as date night is special, so the lady gets her chair pulled out for her and the gentlemen gets…the check.
Try Something New
If dinner and movie have become routine, then mix it up with a different type of food or maybe try the local art gallery? Museum? Park? There’s options out there, you just have to look. Maybe you want to go ice skating instead of dressing up for a fancy night out? Casual fun is just as romantic. Don’t be afraid to suggest these things to your partner, as they might be thinking the same thing.

'Woo' Each Other

Treat date night like it’s your first date. Send an official invitation to dinner and pick up flowers before you go to meet them. When you’re eating dinner, feed each other. Nothing is more intimate and romantic than sharing a meal. Hold hands and kiss often (be mindful of your audience). In short, get wrapped up in the romance of it. Who wouldn’t want to rekindle that flame?

Revisit Memorable Locations
Do you have a memorable location in mind? Take a drive out of town and visit that tree you carved your names into ten years prior. Visit the venue where you got married. Were the kids conceived anywhere particular?... You get what we’re saying. Reliving special memories can be a great way to spend a romantic date.

Have Fun

When in doubt, ditch trying to be romantic, and just have fun. If you push too hard, you may have an adverse effect. You’re with this person because you enjoy spending time with them, so enjoy it. Have them push you in the grocery store cart and then get kicked out ten minutes later. Run through the cemetery at night, screaming all the while. In the end, it’s your date. Do what feels right.
Are you excited for your date night? Romantic relationships are often, well, romanticized. After a while, the romance transforms into comfortability and companionship. While it’s nice to have a romantic moment, you have to be realistic, too. What kind of relationship do you have? Do you enjoy fighting? Then head down to the arcade and compete. Are you the mushy couple that everyone despises, then find a private place to spend the evening together. With that said, go have a wonderful date night with your partner.

💖 If you liked it, you should share it
